Watching the Health Care Bill "celebration" by the cabal of democrats this past week left me with one nagging question: how did these career politicians suddenly become the brain trust on health care? I know that for the majority of these politicians, being a patient of the private Congress doctor is as close to "expertise" as it gets. The only only explanation I can find for this sudden elevation in experience and intellect is that, like the commercial, they must have "spent the night at a Holiday Inn Express." A severe case of Baron Von Munchhausen syndrome is also a possibility. When did being elected to public office suddenly qualify a person as an expert on a host of topics such as: finance, banking, health care, car companies, drug companies, insurance- I could go on... and on. If the Health Care Bill and Cap and Trade make it to the presidents desk, the U.S. Government will control approximately 47% of the economy which would make them true experts in at least one subject-communism.
The Health Care Bill is a whopper- weighing in at 1900 pages with another 800 pages in amendments expected to be "added on". The U.S. Constitution- our founding document- can fit into a booklet so small that you can put it into your pocket. Even better- the 10 Commandments-fits onto two tablets. I am beginning to wonder if the geniuses behind the locked doors that created this Frankensteinian bill have ever read either of these two documents; well make that three if you include the HCB. They were probably so engrossed in their study of Marxist theology that they couldn't find five spare minutes to look them over. The life of a radical progressive is full of hardship you know- Harvard, Yale, Law School, plus a little bedtime reading about the glorious "democratic" revolutions of China and Venezuela. Someone must have burned cigarette holes into all of the textbook pages that revealed how many people were murdered by
the communists that took over these nations. Sadly, reams and reams of paper are all that is needed to demonstrate intellectual superiority. All things considered, I am going to book a stay at the Holiday Inn Express; maybe then I can find out how these people sleep at night.
